Then, application of plant, bacteria and fungi in environmental remediation technology will be explained in detail, including the main species (plant, bacteria, fungi) used in remediation, characteristic of the technology, advantages and shortages of the technology. Finally, case study will be provided for students to further understand how to choose suitable techniques remediation of water, soil, air and solid pollution. The objective of this course is to graspknowledge on environmental pollution, environmental remediation and relevant mechanism, especially on application of bioremediation techniques in environmental remediation; To strengthen the skills on selection of suitable remediation techniques in different environmental pollution; To improve students' ability to apply remediation techniques to solve practical environmental problems.
28-Introduction of the Course:Advanced Oxidation Technology
Course Name:Advanced Oxidation Technology
Credit:2
Teaching hours:24
Contents of the Syllabus:(at least 300 words)
“Advanced Oxidation Technology” is a specialized elective course for the Ph. D. students in Environment and Safety Engineering. In view of the increasingly serious environmental pollution problem and combined the defects of the traditional treatment technologies, kinds of advanced oxidation technologies based on the hydroxyl radical (•OH) and other reactive oxygen species are taught in the course. The concepts, mechanisms, applications, coupled techniques as well as latest researching developments of kinds of advanced oxidation technologies, including the ozone-based oxidation processes, technology of the photochemical oxidation, technology of the photocatalytic oxidation and technology of the thermocatalytic oxidation, will be introduced in the course. By means of ppt teaching, helping students to understand and grasp the basic concepts, characteristics, mechanisms and applications of kinds of different advanced oxidation technologies. By means of seminar, deepening students’ comprehension on the basic knowledge as well as promoting capabilities of students on data acquisition, data summarization and problem analysis. The course can broaden the perspective of research of the students and provide a certain knowledge base for solving practical environmental problems in future.
29-Introduction of the Course:Environmental ethics
Course Name:Environmental ethics

Teaching hours:30
Contents of the Syllabus:(at least 300 words)
Environmental problems have become the focus of attention of governments and people all over the world. While actively applying science and technology to seek solutions, people also turn their attention to the field of ideology. It takes a change in thinking to bring about a fundamental change. The development of environmental ethics is the embodiment of this idea.
This course is taught by means of PPT and case study. Course in origin, emergence and development of environmental ethics and environmental ethics related theories are introduced on the basis of the teaching process of the development of environmental ethics value, power and obligation relationship and its ethical code of ethics, environmental ethics practice related to the main content of environmental ethics, etc, on the basis of conducting scientific ethics, economic ethics, deep ethical issues such as population ethics and management ethics.
One of the teaching objectives of this course is to make students master the knowledge of environmental ethics systematically. Clarify the connotation, structure, function, principle, method and ethical system of environmental ethics, and understand the importance of solving environmental problems besides ethics from a theoretical perspective. The second is to urge students themselves to establish a correct outlook on life, values and environmental ethics. The third is to make students understand the conflict between human and environment correctly, and then make the right choice in the ethical arbitration of the conflict. Finally, it aims to improve the social and environmental ethical compatibility of students and cultivate a new generation of useful talents with exemplary and pioneering roles.
