On October 24, 2023, the International Symposium on Ecological and Environmental Science, co-hosted by Jiangsu University and Korea University, was successfully held on the Zoom online conference platform. School of Environmental and Safety Engineering, Jiangsu University, Institute of Environmental Health and Ecological Safety, Jiangsu University, Institute of Physical Energy, Jiangsu University Microbiology Society, BK21 FOUR Korea University R&E Center for Environmental Science and Ecological Engineering, OJEong Resilience Institute of Korea Nearly 270 researchers from well-known universities and research institutes at home and abroad, including Professor Xu Hui, Dean of the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering, Jiangsu University, Academician Yowhan Son, Academician Woo-Kyun Lee, and Professor Jinho Jung of Korea University, jointly organized by University and Korea University Graduate Program Specialized in Carbon Sink.

With the increasing impact of global environmental change and human activities on ecosystems, ecological and environmental science has become the focus of attention in today's society. Environmental pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change, and over-exploitation of resources have brought great challenges to the living environment and economic development of human beings. Therefore, it is particularly important to explore the cutting-edge technologies and concepts of ecological and environmental science, promote academic exchanges and cooperation, and jointly find the path of sustainable development. Ecological and environmental science is not only concerned with the operation and protection of natural ecosystems, but also involves many fields such as social economy, policies and regulations, and scientific and technological innovation. In the face of such interdisciplinary challenges, Jiangsu University held the International Symposium on Ecological and Environmental Science, aiming to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between experts and scholars in the field of global change and alien biological invasion at home and abroad, and to build a platform for in-depth exchanges between ecologists in the field of ecological and environmental science, so as to promote the vigorous development of the field of ecological and environmental science in China.

The successful convening of this conference has broadened the horizons of our teachers and students in the field of ecological and environmental science research, expanded the academic influence of our school in related fields, and laid a solid foundation for more solid international cooperation in the field of ecological and environmental research.
