On August 30, the third phase of the Innovation and Development Forum of the International Alliance of Agricultural and Engineering Universities was successfully held, with more than 100 experts, scholars, teachers and student representatives from the alliance universities participating online and offline, and Professor Yang Daojian, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, attended the forum.

The forum was hosted by the International Alliance of Agricultural and Engineering Universities (Secretariat), organized by the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering of Jiangsu University (Biomass Energy Research Institute, School of Environmental Health and Safety Engineering), and presided over by Professor Sun Jianzhong, Executive Secretary General of the International Alliance of Agricultural Engineering Universities. The forum focused on the "dual carbon" strategy and sustainable development, with the theme of "low-carbon agriculture starts from waste recycling".

At the meeting, Professor Wang Xiulun focused on hot issues such as renewable biomass resources replacing petrochemical resources, reducing carbon emissions, and circular economy with the title of "Using Crop Straw to Develop Environment-friendly Biodegradable Bio-based Materials", and shared the innovative environmental protection technology of using straw to prepare degradable bio-based sheets with excellent performance, as well as the application and promotion prospects of bio-based sheets in agricultural mulch film, packaging, food and other fields.

Representatives from the College of Agricultural Engineering, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, the School of Food and Biological Engineering, the Institute of Energy Research and our faculty and students listened to the scene.

A cooperation agreement was also signed on the spot, and Yang Daojian and Wang Xiulun signed a contract on behalf of both universities and unveiled the joint research center.
